Kennelly Cup
After months of silence on the football it was wonderful to hear the banging of boots and the cheers from children as they returned to playing Gaelic Football in the school. Under the guidance of Mr Phelan and Mr Kiely the Kennelly Cup recommenced in early September. With more boys than ever registering to play this year it was a joy to watch the efforts and energy of all the children who have taken part. The tournament has reached Finals stage, with our finals after school on the 13th October. The Shield FInal will throw in at 2:30pm and the Cup Final at 3:10pm. Best of luck to all our players and our coaches Mr Drummey, Ms Hayden, Mr Dunne and Ms Fennelly who have so generously given up their time to make children smile.
Gregory Cup
As with our boys the level of interest among our girls for Gaelic Football was also massive this year. With 52 girls registered to play and heightened levels of excitement our Gregory Cup started with a super game between Dublin and Cork on Tuesday afternoon. The passion from the players was matched by coaches Ms Farrell and Ms Hayden and after an intense 25 min Cork were successful. Best of luck to all the girls for the remainder of the tournament, to coaches, Ms Clifford, Ms Hayden, Ms Julian, Ms Farrell and organiser Ms Fennelly.
