We are delighted to announce that the annual Scholastic Book Fair is arriving in Scoil Phadraig Naofa today, February 28th. Over the coming days classes will come down with their teachers and browse the book fair. Children will have a slip of paper called a wishlist where they can record the title and price of any books they like.
From Thursday children can then bring in money and come down to the book fair and purchase their chosen books. Every book purchased at the book fair earns Scoil Phádraig Naofa credit with the book company. We can use this credit to purchase books for our class libraries. We would ask parents not to purchase books online with Scholastic during the book fair as we will not earn the credits with online purchases, only with cash purchases in school. Please put cash into an envelope or sandwich bag and remind your child to give it to their teacher when they come into school. It would be handy to have the child’s name on the envelope also, and the wish list or name of the book they would like to buy.
For infants classes and the Rose Rooms we will open the book fair between 1.30pm-2.30pm on Wednesday 2nd, and Thursday 3rd March. During this time parents are welcome to come in with the children. This may be preferable to giving them cash themselves but is not a requirement. There will also be a slot during the day for pupils to go down themselves.
We thank you for your support with this event.
