SAOIRSE VICENTE WINS NATIONAL SILVER – AN POST PRIMARY SCHOOL WRITING COMPETITION

22nd June 2023

Huge congratulations to Saoirse Vicente. Last month, Mr. Dunney, fifth class teacher received an email from An Post confirming that Saoirse Vicente, had been chosen as 5th and 6th Class National Silver Winner in this year’s An Post Primary School Writing Competition.

This year, An Post writing competition is focused on the subject important to us all- the future of Ireland. The theme is “A Happier and Healthier Ireland 2030”.

The competition involved a letter and a drawing. Pupils all over the country were asked to write a letter telling their favourite ways to make Ireland happier and healthier with the spotlight on sustainability and how we can all play our part in making positive change for the future.

An Post received over 8,000 entries of high standard from across the country. Just recently, Saoirse received from An Post the certificate and prize confirming she is the National Silver Winner, 5th and 6th Class Division.

Below is a piece written by Saoirse herself detailing her thoughts about the achievement.
