Athy College hosted their first Primary school Chess Tournament on the 16th September with a great turn out from local feeder primary schools. Over 80 participants played on the day from Athy Model School, Kilkea NS, Scoil Phádraig Naofa, Gaelscoil Átha Í, Scoil Mhichil Naofa and Athy College. Red King Chess facilitated a great competition with the over all team winners hailing from Scoil Pádraig Naofa. Well done to all the players and the senior Athy College Chess players who acted as mentors for the participants on the day. Thanks to Athy School Completion Programme for organising the event.
