44 boys and girls from 5th and 6th class participated in cycle safety training on Thursday 26th May. Garda O’Mahony and Garda Davern delivered an engaging and at times challenging training course. The children learned about key skills such as balance, awareness and most importantly, safety! The training culminated with an exciting 5km cycle through the town of Athy. We wish to thank Garda O’ Mahony and Garda Davern for providing 5th and 6th class with a wonderful day on their bikes! A word of thanks must also go to Ms O’ Malley and Mr Kiely for joining the 5km cycle. And also to Ger Kelly for providing some last minute bike breakdown support! Hopefully we will see lots more boys and girls cycling to school in future.
