You should also save our school mobile number – 0873903835. Our school office
will sometimes use this number to make calls but you will not be able to return a
call to this number.
Attendance
Children who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve at higher levels
than children who do not have regular attendance. Bearing this in mind children
must always attend school when healthy and well
Should your child be sick or unwell please keep him/her at home to avoid the
spread of infection.
It is important that you update your child’s health status on our Aladdin App to
notify your child’s class teacher of the reason for the absence.
Meetings
Should you wish to meet with your child’s class teacher please always make an
appointment in advance where possible. When making an appointment please
contact our school office staff by email to info@spnathy.ie or phone 0598634811.
If the necessity for a meeting is urgent our school office and your child’s teacher
will organise the meeting as soon as possible.
Please, where possible avoid arriving at our school requesting a meeting without a
prearranged appointment.
Accessing the School Building
For Child Protection reasons we ask that parents/guardians never enter the school
building without an appointment and reporting to our school office in advance.
To prevent unnecessary visits to the school ensure your child has all the
requirements for the day when they leave home every morning, including lunch,
drinks, books, bags, sports gear, etc.
Collecting your Child Early
Please only collect your child early from school when absolutely necessary and if
possible arrange appointments for outside of school time.
When collecting your child for a prearranged appointment please email you
son/daughter’s teacher in advance to notify them of the appointment.
Avoid collecting your child during times that he/she may be on yard.
Junior Infants, 1st Class, 3rd Class and 5th Class are on yard from 10:40am – 10:55am
and from 12:20pm – 12:50pm.
Senior Infants, 2nd Class, 4th Class and 6th Class are on yard from 11:10am – 11:25am
and from 1pm – 1:30pm.
If your child is sick or unwell in school, the office will contact you to collect your
child, please ensure that all contact details are up-to-date and current.
Always complete the Sign-Out book before your child leaves the school.
Entering the School Campus
People entering our school campus are asked to do so in a safe and respectful
manner. We share our wonderful facility with Athy Model School and Gaelscoil Áth
Í and we expect drivers to be considerate and respectful if using their parking
facilities.
If possible we would really appreciate children walking, cycling, car pooling or using
some other sustainable method of travel to school.
