Recently we Celebrated Creative Week which encompassed art, music and digital literacy. There was a wide variety of activities running from knitting in 4th Class, coding with 4th-6th, paint party for Junior infants and much more. The week was a lot of fun and there was a fabulously creative atmosphere felt throughout the school. A  highlight from the week was 5th class’ trip to both the National Gallery or the Hugh Lane Gallery to visit the Andy Warhol Exhibit. The children really enjoyed their trip and studied Andy Warhol as their artist for the week. 6th class enjoyed exploring digital Literacy through both coding and photography, perfecting their editing skills, while other classes explored texture, fabric and colour with Mary Slevin. The week was topped off with a visit to our in school Gallery in the halla which included artwork from every year group and the “Prado on the Barrow” project which was produced by Athy Photographic Society.
