Distinguished singer-songwriter Megan O’ Neil recently visited our school to do a song writing workshop with our school choir. The choir broke into two groups and each group had a two hour workshop with Megan. During this time the children worked collaboratively to write, compose, perform and record their songs. The children began by choosing a theme for their song and brainstorming ideas surrounding the theme. The children spent some time writing their own lyrics and pieced their individual lyrics together to form their song. At the end of the day each group performed their song for each other and discussed the process. Both songs are very impressive and we are very proud of what the choir composed.
