In Scoil Phadraig Naofa we are very fortunate to have a beautiful school garden which is used by all classes from Junior Infants to Sixth Class.
The children learn about the technical side of gardening as well as taking turns, helping each other and maintaining their plants once they are sown and planted. There are many benefits for the emotional and mental health of the children. In planting, children are indirectly taught the wonders of science such as the plant’s life-cycle and how human’s intervention can make or break the environment. They can engage in first hand experience of the miracle of life through planting a seed.
